<!-- FH = Morris Funeral Home, 304 Merrimon Ave. --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Eleanor Brown HallAsheville - Lelia Eleanor Brown Hall, 87, passed away Thursday, November 28 at Givens Estates Health Center.Mrs. Hall was born December 13, 1925 in Asheville, the daughter of Hugh Crawford Brown, Sr. and Lelia Eleanor Mitchell Brown. She grew up in Beaverdam and North Asheville and attended St. Genevieves and Fassafern schools. She was graduated from Southern Seminary College in Buena Vista, Virginia. On October 4, 1947 she married James Montgomery Hall, Jr., an executive with Carolina Power and Light. During Mr. Hall's career they lived in Hazelwood, Wilmington, and Maxton before returning to Asheville in 1963; they were married for 46 years. Mrs. Hall was a homemaker and active member of Central United Methodist Church, from the early "Cradle Roll" to participation in the Ruth Circle. She was involved in civic organizations that included the Junior Welfare League, Asheville Preservation Society, and later with the CP&L retirees group. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother.Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sisters-in-law, Nell Brown and Nicolette Brown. She is survived by her daughter Lelia Eleanor Hall Lattimore and her husband John, of Polkville, NC; brothers Hugh Crawford Brown, Jr. of Patterson, LA., Edwin Louis Brown of Asheville, and sister Mary Ida Brown Sprague and husband Peter Sprague, Sr. and Asheville; grandchildren Mary Eleanor Lattimore, of Philadelphia, PA, Sarah Rebecca Lattimore Pruett ,her husband Michael Pruett, of Asheville, and John Daniel Lattimore of Wilmington, NC, great-granddaughter Caroline Elizabeth Pruett of Asheville, and many nieces, nephews and their families. A memorial service and receiving of friends will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday December 1, 2013 at the Pulliam Chapel at Givens Estates. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, Parish Nurse Ministry Fund, 27 Church Street, Asheville, NC 28801; the Asheville Preservation Society, 324 Charlotte Street, Asheville, NC 28801 or to the Western North Carolina Community Foundation - Gertrude Ramsey Fund for Children, PO Box 1888, Asheville, NC 28802.The family would like to thank the staff at Givens Estates Assisted Living and Health Center and Debra Zimmerman for the special care that was shown to Mrs. Hall.Morris Funeral Home, 304 Merrimon Avenue, is handling arrangements.
