Eleanor A. Johnson, born in 1934, spouse of Robert J. Johnson, daughter of Charles and Cecelia, died on February 8, 2012 at 78 years old.
Eleanor A. (Vesperi) Johnson, 78, of Milford MA, died Wednesday (February 8, 2012) at Clinton Hospital in Clinton MA after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Robert J. Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was born in Milford, the daughter of the late Charles and the late Cecelia (Pettinelli) Vesperi. She attended Milford public schools as a young girl and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1950. She then attended a five year double major degree program in which she graduated from Fitchburg State Teachers College, Class of 1955, where she received her teaching certification, and also graduated from Burbank Hospital School of Nursing, located in Fitchburg MA, where she received her nursing degree. Mrs. Johnson was a resident of Milford for most of her life and had been employed in the Milford Public School system for thirty-four years. She retired in 1989 as an acting assistant principal and head teacher. Mrs. Johnson was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and a longtime member of the Burbank Hospital Alumni Association. She was also member of the Milford Retired Teachers Association and the Massachusetts Retired Teachers Association. Along with her beloved husband of fifty-five years, she is survived by 2 Daughters: Karen A., wife of Leonard Oliveri of Milford MA and Marilyn F., wife of Dean Alofs of Scarborough ME; 4 Grandchildren: Christina Oliveri, Michael Oliveri, Garrett Alofs and Jake Alofs; 1 Brother-in-law: Peter Johnson and his wife Jayne of Plainville MA; 2 Sisters-in-law: Marion, wife of Walter McGovern of Waltham MA and Anita Johnson of Carver MA; several cousins including: Carlo Molinari of Medway MA; also several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Her funeral will be held Saturday (February 11th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (Upper Church), 7 East Main Street, Milford.
