Elaine J. Knight Elaine J. Knight HINGHAM Elaine Laney Knight, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at age 83. She was comforted by her son, Chesterton Knight and her daughter, Diane Knight-Mohr as well as her granddaughter Kelsey Knight Mohr and grandson Jackson Elliott Mohr. Laney was born and raised in Brockton with her sister Margaret Pearson by their parents Ernest Jack Jocoy, a well respected dentist, and Diana Russell Jocoy. Both parents were born in Scotland and maintained the traditions of their homeland, being mindful of passing on their beloved heritage. Laney was married for over 55 years to Chesterton Chick Knight, Jr. and they thrived on each others passion for life. They enjoyed their global travels together, while continuing the legacy of close family ties. Chick and Laney were tremendously close and spent as much time together as possible. After Chicks death in 2004, Laney moved into Linden Ponds in Hingham and immersed herself in the social life and friendships her new community offered. Laney believed in living life to its fullest and strived every day to do just that. She enjoyed her involvement in the wide variety of cultural affairs in the area with her many long time friends from Brockton and more recently with her friends at Linden Ponds. While she will be missed by all, we are comforted in the knowledge that her spirit now resides with her loved ones that have passed before. Other family Laney leaves behind includes four additional grandchildren: Leah Knight and Cody Knight of Marshfield, MA, Anna Knight and Sarah Knight of Plympton, MA, Son-in-law Brent Mohr of Eliot, ME and Daughter-in-law Gail Knight of Plympton, MA.
