->Elaine H. JohnsonPLEASANT VALLEY - Elaine H. Johnson, 76, of Pleasant Valley, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. She was born April 4, 1934 in Brewster, NY to the late William and Ann Reed Heincohn. Elaine worked as a Registered Nurse for many years. She started her career at the State Hospital in Wingdale, where she met her husband Thorne. She later worked at Vassar Brothers Hospital in the CCU and ICU for 36 years. She married Thorne Johnson on August 22, 1958 at the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church. Mr. Johnson predeceased her in January of 2005. Elaine loved to spend time with her three granddaughters. She was also an avid reader. Elaine is survived by her four sons, Kurt and his wife, Lori, of Pleasant Valley, Ken of Boynton, FL, Eric of San Antonio, TX, and Ted of Milan; brother, Bill, of VT, and granddaughters, Christine, Nicole and Erica; niece, Susan Valdatta Schroeder and sister- in-law, Marsha, and her husband, Remo Valdatta, of Pleasant Valley. She was predeceased by her brother, Ray Heincohn, and sister, Dottie Walters. The family would like to thank the Nurses in the CCU and Cath Lab at Vassar Brothers Hospital, the Dutchess Dialysis Center, the Fairview Fire and Rescue Department and a special thank you to Dr. Lobo.
