Eileen King, died on December 17, 2006. Please consult the obituary here:
Eileen King (1916-2006) died of natural causes on Dec. 17, 2006. Born in London, England, Ms. King was a world traveler, photographing people, cities, natural places and wildlife for over 50 years. Her photography won international, national and regional awards, including the Marie Selby Botanical Photography Award for the state of Florida. She chose to settle in St. Augustine in 1990 because of its natural beauty."Here, I can drive for 10 minutes and be surrounded by natural beauty," she always said. While here, she chose to concentrate her photography on the wildlife and wildflowers of St. Johns County and most recognized her by the ever-present floppy safari hat and camera. Her photographs of endangered St. Johns County wildflowers hang in the Bartram Trail Library and the County Annex of Northwest St. Johns County. There will be a private celebration of Ms. King's life. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to "Noah's Ark Wildlife" and sent to: Karen Lynch, 335 Sunset Dr., St. Augustine, FL 32080.PAID NOTICE
