Edwin-Paul Hamilton, father of Richard Paul, Norma Jean, Joan Adelle, Mary Ruth, Paula and Celeste, died at 85 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
SPRINGFIELD HAMILTON, EDWIN PAUL, 85, died Saturday at his residence. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, a US Navy veteran of World War II and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. In 1955, he served on the Building Committee of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fredericktown, KY, and served on the advisory board of St. Catharine College. He was president of Nally & Gibson Surfacing, president of Bledsoe Coal Company, past president of the Kentucky Asphalt Association and served on the board of directors of First & Peoples Bank in Springfield and the Washington County School Board. He was owner of Kalarama Farm and in 1997 he received the American Saddlebred Horse Association's Breeder of the Year award for his outstanding accomplishments in breeding champion horses. Survivors include three sons, Richard Paul "Richie" Hamilton of Louisville, James Everett "Jimmy" Hamilton of Lexington, KY, and Edwin K. Hamilton of Bardstown, KY; five daughters, Norma Jean Smith and Joan Adelle Hamilton of Springfield, Mary Ruth Salem and Paula Bemiss of Louisville, and Celeste Dawson of Bardstown; two brothers, Richard Hamilton of Fredericktown, and Bob Hamilton of Bardstown; two sisters, Helen Mudd of Lexington, and Louise Nally of Fredericktown; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. His funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Dominic Catholic Church, with burial in St. Rose Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Tuesday at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home, where a prater service will be held at 7 p.m.
