-> Brooklet - Edwin O. Smith, 58, died Thursday, May 29, 2003 at St. Josephs Hospital. Born in Bulloch County, Mr. Smith had lived in Savannah prior to moving to Brooklet 13 years ago. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Nevils where he played the saxophone in the church orchestra. He was employed with Nash Finch and enjoyed playing softball and golf, fishing and hunting. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Gail Smith of Brooklet; son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Jennifer Smith of Brooklet; granddaughter, Hannah Smith of Brooklet; mother, Myrtice W. Smith of Brooklet; brother, J.W. Smith, Jr., of Savannah; sisters, Bonnie Baker of Destin, FL and Debbie Smith of Santa Monica, CA; several nieces and nephews. Visitation: 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, May 30 at the funeral home. Funeral: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 31 in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial: Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery. Thomas C.
