New York Ship BuildingLAKELAND -- Mr. Edwin R. Miller of Lakeland died of cancer Nov. 19, 2003, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. He was 81.Born in Camden, N.J., on April 3, 1922, he came to Lakeland from Barrington, N.J., in June. He was a supervisor at New York Ship Building in Camden and the Penn and Sun Ship Building in Chester, Pa. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias. He was an Army veteran of World War II.Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife, June A. Miller. He is survived by his son, Keith Miller, Lakeland; daughter, Kathy Miller Hewes, Lakeland; sister, Irene Pentz, Columbia, Md.Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
