STEWART, Edward 1911 - 2011 The full life of Edward (Ted) D. Stewart came to a peaceful end on February 14, 2011, at the Misericordia Hospital at the glorious age of 99. A native - born resident of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan Ted moved to Edmonton when a job opportunity became available with the Northern Alberta Railroad. Ted had a long, distinguished career with the NAR advancing from being dispatch rider to brakeman and finally, conductor. Ted worked with the NAR until he retired in 1976. It was evident that Ted loved working on the rails, relaying many entertaining stories to friends and family and sharing his vast collection of train memorabilia. Ted was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Charlotte Stewart; his first wife, Eileen and sister Bernice Crimes. Ted will be greatly missed by his wife, Lavina (Pat) Stewart; his sons, Allan (Bud) Dixon (Isabel), Teddy, Barry (Shirley) and Russel and daughter, Kathy Karpa. Ted also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, two sisters and one brother. Please join us in celebrating the life of Edward D. Stewart at the Edmonton South Seventh Day Adventist Church at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011. Flowers are gratefully declined.
