<!-- FH = STOWERS/MARSICANO #1543 --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->VAN HORN, Edward Russell born to John and Loa Van Horn Oct. 31, 1929 entered into rest April 13, 2014. He came to Tampa July 4, 1940 with his father and brothers, John and Richard Van Horn. He attended the University of Tampa and received a Bachelor of Science degree. Ed learned to fly with his brothers at the age of 13. On March 16, 1946 he joined the Army Aircorp and went to Scott Field, IL for radio school and then to Eglin Air Force base. He was an original member of the Air Force and worked as a crew chief on the General's plane. He left the military and came back to Tampa where he worked temporarily at Grand Central Garage. He met and married Mary Wells Aug. 24, 1949. This union produced two daughters, Candice (Barry) Greer and Sunny (Mike) Ploch. Ed later married Molly Freels Dickey, a widow, June 15, 1968 she had four sons, Mark (Michelle), Michael, Matt (Ella), and Martin (Chris). Their union produced a daughter, Annie (Craig) Lightsey, who he delivered at home. He retired from Sears Roebuck as Department Manager 1950-1989. After retirement he started a family business Community Jewelry and Pawn. He is survived by all of his children; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; countless nieces and nephews. A private family memorial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions, may be made in Ed's name to LifePath Hospice. Arrangements by Stowers Funeral Home.
