LEE, Edward Edward Lee lived a life of happiness, laughter, and satisfaction that crossed over nine decades. Most importantly, he lived a dignified life that was always surrounded by his loving family and good friends. Edward was born in Windsor, Ontario on October 27, 1921 to parents, King and Lily (Wong). Edward married Jean (nee Hong, 1993) and together they started their own family. Edward became father to Thomas (Bee), Martha DeJong (Toby), and Dianne Campeau (Mark). As his family expanded, Edward became grandfather to Melissa (Mike G.), Mike (Allison), Tamara (Tom R.), Tommy II, Aubrey (Jeff), Megan, Ted, Sara, and Ed. Survived by his sister-in-law and companion, Mary, his youngest brother, James (Fran), sister-in-law, Janet, and predeceased by his siblings, Alfred, Peter, Ben, and May; Edward will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Edward, a WWII veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force (404 Squadron), was known in the community for his marine business, Edgewater Marine Ltd. and the family restaurant, Lee's Imperial Tavern. In 1986, he was presented with the Outstanding Achievement Award for Volunteerism by the Ministry of Citizenship and Culture and in 2002, Edward was inaugurated into Canada's Boating Hall of Fame in recognition of extraordinary achievement. On April 17, 2012, Edward peacefully passed away in the care of his family and the Hospice of Windsor. Edward's family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, support staff, and volunteers at Hospice for their outstanding dedication, compassion, and empathy.
