BALLSTON SPA - Edna V. Harrington, 90, of Ballston Spa, passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at Saratoga Hospital. Born Sept. 26, 1920, in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Martha VanArnum. Edna grew up in Victory Mills and was a graduate of Schuylerville High School. She worked at Ackshand Knitting Co. in Schuylerville and was a designer at Van Raalte Co. in Saratoga Springs. She later worked at the Wilton Developmental Center, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Malta Ridge United Methodist Church and Malta Seniors. She volunteered for the Office of the Aging for many years.Edna was predeceased by her husband, Stewart J. Harrington; and her daughter, Joy Hatch. She is survived by her daughter, Jill Carey and her husband, Edward, of Ballston Spa; grandchildren, Heather L. Roberts of Wells, Vt., Paulette J. Hatch of St. Petersburg, Fla., Matthew S. Carey (Sara) of Schenectady, Elizabeth A. Ebbecke (Michael) of Wilmington, N.C., and Edward F. Carey Jr. of Clifton Park; and great-grandchildren, Brenda Corbett, Brockton Corbett, Kobe Roberts and Madelyn Ebbecke.Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at the Malta Ridge United Methodist Church, Malta Avenue Extension, Malta. A service will follow at noon. Burial will be in Warrensburg Cemetery in the spring.
