Edna Ruth Stroud, 72, Seymour, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Jewish Hospital, Louisville. Mrs. Stroud was born May 6, 1936, in Crab Orchard, Ky., to Gene and Ludenia Kidd Hodge, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 30, 1954, in Crab Orchard, she married Leonard "Junior" Stroud, who preceded her in death Oct. 22, 2003. She is survived by six daughters, Patricia Stroud, Lisa Organ, Paula (Sonny) Smith, Lil (Jeff) Marsh, Jerri (Blacky) Campbell and Christina (Ken) Alcorn; four sons, Lonnie (Jeanette) Stroud, Tim Stroud, Joe (Karen) Stroud and Charles Stroud; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four sisters, Martha Denny, Wanda Caudill, Margaret Reed and Mary Middleton; and a brother, Howard Edward Hodge She was preceded in death by a son, Leonard Eugene Stroud; a daughter, Teresa Martin; four brothers, Paul, Russell, Delmar (Bob) and Ralph Hodge; a sister, Della Baugh; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Voss Chapel, Seymour, with Rev. Mark Meyers officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, with a Voss Dove Tribute.
