BROWN, Edna NancyEdna passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Union Villa nursing home in Markham, Ont. Edna was comfortable and well cared for in her final years spent there. Anyone who has known Edna can picture her smiling face and perpetual upbeat attitude. This continued throughout her entire life. Born on August 9, 1925 in Lachine, Quebec, Edna graduated from Lachine High and soon became a "Wave" in the navy while WWII raged on. Shortly after the war, Edna married the late George Grant Cunningham Brown. Together, they raised their two sons John and Grant as well as George's sister Margaret. Edna is survived by Margaret and Grant as well as three grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Edna's wonderful spirit lives on in her remaining family who will always cherish the fond memories from the years with her. In lieu of flowers, Edna's wish would have been to have any friends or family make a donation to The Alzheimer Society of Canada. Edna was a fabulous wife and mother. A Private Family Service has been held.
