-> Edna Manning, 86, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at Oceanside Nursing Home on Tybee Island. She was a native of Brooklet, and lived in Savannah since 1945. After moving to Savannah she worked at the old Adlers Department Store on Broughton Street and later devoted the rest of her time as a seamstress. She was a member of the Christian Science Church. Mrs. Manning was a singer with several bands during the 1930s along with her husband who played in those bands and helped form the first band with Harry James. Surviving: three sons, Chuck Ainsworth of Savannah, David Peterson of Savannah, and Joseph Manning of Savannah; a sister, Alice Bryant of Wilmington, NC; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held Friday, April 18, 2003. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice Savannah, 1352 Eisenhower Dr., Savannah, GA 31406. Hubert C.
