Obituary of Edna-Flowers Carter


CARTER Edna Flowers Carter died September 11, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Carter, U.S.N.- Retired; sisters, Josephine Kiepfer, Helen Armstrong and Mary Auerback; and a brother, Michael Flowers. Mrs. Carter was the beloved Mother of Jeanne, John and Jo Marie. Other survivors include a loving sister, SR. M. Louise, of the Little Servant Sisters of the Immaculate Conception; a brother, William Flowers; sisters-in-law, Olly and Ruth Flowers and many nieces and nephews. She was formerly employed by the New York Stock Exchange, had served as a Grey Lady during the War and was a free-lance writer for the Naval Times News. Mrs. Carter was a volunteer for 24 years at Memorial Hospital Jacksonville, was very active in ARC- Duval Co., “ Volunteer of the Year” and Resurrection Volunteer Home Visiting Aide. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday (TODAY) at Resurrection Catholic Church with FR. Michael Thompson, Celebrant. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
