PARKER, EDNA CLAIRE January 6th, 1923 November 23, 2008 Parker, Edna Claire (nee Godfrey) Edna passed away at home with family after a brief but devastating battle with Cancer. She was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and lived in Canwood, Saskatchewan in her family run hotel until the age of twelve after which she and her family moved to Vancouver, BC. She attended GrandView Commercial and became a secretary for Crones Storage. Shortly thereafter she met and fell in love with Frank Parker whom she subsequently married in 1944. She and Frank moved to Victoria where Frank had secured employment at HMC Dockyard. In 1945 they began their family and moved to a small house in Victoria West where they lived the rest of their married lives. First and foremost Mom loved her family and was very devoted to everyone that included. Mom was actively involved in the community. She promptly joined St. Saviour's Anglican Church where she taught Sunday School, played the piano and was an enthusiastic member of the Ladies Guild. She was secretary for the Community Centre and Victoria West, Lampson and Macaulay Schools. Mom, over the years, enjoyed square dancing, bus tours, cruises, trips to see family and friends in England, bingo at New Horizons and she loved to go walking in the Hillside Mall. She pursued many crafts and was an adept needlewoman. She had the amazing ability to make everyone she was with feel like they were exactly the person she needed at that moment and nothing could make her happier. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 65 years (Frank), her son Dave (Linda), her daughter, Donna (Bob), her grandchildren Kayla, Kevin and Alison, many nieces and nephews, and many very dear friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, Bill (Jenny) and Cecil, and sisters Laura (Bob) and Violet (Bill). A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 11:00 am at St. Saviour's Anglican Church, 310 Henry St. In lieu of flowers kindly make donations to St. Saviour's Anglican Church. 515468
