LEE, Edmund K. After a short illness, Ed passed away peacefully on October 15, 2010 in Victoria, B.C. at the age of 82. Predeceased by his wife Nellie in 1995 and brother Wilfred in 1968. Ed is survived by his children, Michael (Anne), Leslie (Randy) and Scott (Cheryl); grandchildren, Daniel, Brett, Lauren, Brendan, Bryan, James and Jeffery; brothers, Albert (Janet), George (Helen) and David (Grace); sisters, Millie Lee, Lillian (Russell), Kathy (Terry) and Pat (Tom) and his sister-in-law, Rosa Lee; nieces, nephews and their families. Ed was born in on September 11, 1928 in Gananoque, Ontario where he spent his childhood. In 1947, he enrolled in the naval reserve as a seaman and during one of his summer cadet trainings in Victoria, he met his future wife Nellie and raised a family. During his career in the naval reserve, Ed became Commanding Officer of HMCS Malahat 1969-1974 and received the Order of Military Merit in 1976. In addition, Ed was an Astronomer at the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory where he retired at the age of 55. Ed will be remembered for his quiet gentle nature, laugher at the oddest things and sense of duty. The family would like to thank the staff at Mt. St. Mary's for their kindness and compassionate care. A private family service will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010. In lieu of flowers, tributes, if desired, may be made to Mt.
