Edmund F. Harrington, born in 1911, spouse of Bertha R. Silver, son of John and Josephine, father of Susan, Linda and Edmund P, died on October 21, 2010. Please consult the obituary here:
Edmund F. Harrington -->Edmund F. Harrington of Plymouth, formerly of Quincy, died Oct. 21, 2010. The beloved husband of the late Bertha R. (Silver) Harrington, he was the loving father of Edmund P. Harrington of Weymouth, Linda O'Hallorin of Quincy and Susan DeVogel of Virginia; brother of Leo Harrington of Scituate; grandfather of eight; and great-grandfather of eight. Born in Carbonier, Newfoundland, Nov. 28, 1911, a son of the late John and Josephine (Cullen) Harrington, he was educated in Charlestown schools. He had worked as a manager for John Hancock Travel Bureau in Boston retiring in 1976. He was a member of the American Legion Post 40 in Plymouth and the National Horseshoe Pitchers Assn. Edmund served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the Troop 106th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron. Funeral Mass Saturday morning at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, 126 South Meadow Road, Plymouth. Visiting hours in the church Saturday morning from 9-11 a.m., prior to Mass. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. Memorial donations may be made to the building fund of the Church of the Blessed Kateri, 126 S. Meadow Road, Plymouth, MA 02360.
