Edith Bernice Simpson April 28, 1914 July 7, 2008 The family of Edith Bernice Simpson are saddened to announce her death on Monday, July 7, 2008 at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon at the age of 94. Bernice will be lovingly remembered by her son, Wayne; his wife, Jeannine; three grandchildren, Stephanie, Dan (Renee) and Paul (Megan); and two sisters, Betty and Joan. She is predeceased by her husband, Wes; her brothers, Leonard, James and Mansell; and her sisters, Isabelle, Annie, Violet, Esther and Velma. Bernice was born in Winnipeg April 28, 1914. She moved to Winter, SK at age 1, and moved to Saskatoon, SK at age 16 where she attended City Park Collegiate. In 1942, she married (Arthur) Wesley Simpson at age 28, and they had one son, Wayne in 1948. She worked at CFQC Television and later at the College of Nursing at the University of Saskatchewan. She attended Grosvenor Park United Church and was involved in various committees at Chalet Gardens Condominium. Bernice enjoyed old time and square dancing with several clubs in Saskatoon, 5-pin bowling in several Saskatoon leagues, and she had a love of travel. Funeral Services will take place Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Saskatoon Funeral Home followed by interment at Floral Cemetery with Rev. Deb Walker officiating.
