Mrs. Edith McAlister Hall, 87, formerly of 11503 Belton Honea Path Highway, widow of Julian Edward Hall, died Thursday, October 4, 2007, at NHC in Anderson.Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late D.W. and Pearl Cummings McAlister. She was a member of Broadmouth Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School Teacher for numerous years. She was retired from Blair Mills, Inc. Surviving are a son Mike Hall and wife, Lillian, of Honea Path; a daughter, Betty Gurrad and husband, John, of Belton; two sisters, Frances McCurry of Honea Path, and Hazel Harwick of Tenafly, N.J.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Lucille Smith and Inez McDowell. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Booker Bagby officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories.Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Broadmouth Baptist Church.The family will be at their respective homes.
