CARTER, EDGAR L., 86, died Sunday, December 30, 2007 at his residence. He was retired creative director of Zimmer McClaskey Lewis and McCann Erickson Advertising agencies and former instructor of the American Academy of Art; Chicago, IL. He was a native of Oskaloosa, IA and a US Army Air Corp veteran of World War II. He was a licensed hot air balloon and glider pilot. He also was an avid billiards player and a Kentucky Colonel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Barnes Carter. He is survived by a daughter, Karen C. Stone (James); son, John Michael Carter (Barbara); five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Burial will be private. Visitation 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Pearson's 149 Breckenridge Lane.
