DRAKE, EVELYN M. WESTLEY, 78, of Deltona, FL, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2005. She was born to the late Harry and Eva Westley on August 12, 1926 in Tyrone, PA. She said that as a child growing up, she always knew that she wanted to be a nurse. After graduating from high school in 1944, she entered the Army Cadet Nursing Corp. She graduated as a Registered Nurse. She devoted a large part of her working years serving as a pediatric nurse. She was a remarkably compassionate, kind and intelligent woman who thoroughly loved and enjoyed children. Because of these attributes, along with her unfaltering professionalism, she was an outstanding nurse loved and admired by all who were fortunate enough to receive her loving touch. She is survived by her son, Tom Troutwine of Deltona, FL; daughter, Jackie Candler of Longwood, FL; two grandchildren, Tara LoPresti of Orlando, FL; Jake Schultz of Winter Springs, FL; one great-grandson, Brandon Madeline of Orlando, FL; sister, Joyce Surplus of Largo, FL; and brother, John Westley of Altoona, PA. She was greatly loved by her family and will be missed immensely. Her passionate spirit will remain forever in those she left behind. Services will be held at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, FL on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to your favorite charity.
