EVELYN FORD (GASKIN) JENNINGS BRISTOL - Evelyn Ford (Gaskin) Jennings, 98, of Bristol, died peacefully at home on Oct. 14, 2014, surrounded by family. She was born June 24, 1916, in Lyndonville, Vt., though she has always said her birthday was on the 23rd. She was the daughter of Robert and Dora (Plummer) Gaskin. Evelyn was married Aug. 28, 1938, to Frederick Eugene Jennings Sr., who predeceased her in June 1986. For many years, she and her husband ran a dairy farm in Starksboro, Vt. She was a mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, great-greatgrandmother, and aunt to many, many children. She took great joy in her large family. Evelyn was the last member of her family. She was one of ten children. Her late husband was also from a family of ten children, who all predeceased her. She was predeceased by a daughter, Ruth (Cota) Weston; and sons-in-law, Oscar Severson and Henry Parrott; and grandsons, Frederick and Jonathan Parrott. She is survived by her children, Joyce Severson and Marilyn Norton of Bristol, Vt., Caroline (Conrad) Aube of Monkton, Vt., and Ernestine (Kirk) Woolery, Kenneth Jennings (Ann Phelps), and Frederick (Karol) Jennings all of Barefoot Bay, Fla. Calling hours are 5:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at the Brown- McClay Funeral Home on South Street, Bristol. Service will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, with internment at Greenwood Cemetery, Bristol. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the American Leukemia Society.
