<!-- FH = TINDEL, JULIE -->CARTER, Eugene "Buddy," 87, of Riverview, Fla., passed away peace-fully August 18, 2011, at sunset, surround-ed by his family. He was born in Appling County, Ga. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Helen Carter; three sons, Bobby, Cameron and Randy Carter; daughter-in-law, Janice Linnie; grand-children, Jolene (James) Joyner, Julie (Kenny) Tindel and Michael, Matthew, Rachel, Ryan, Rochelle Carter; great-grandsons, Jacob Joyner and Kohen Tindel; beloved dog, "Oreo,"; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Larry E Carter. Buddy was a World War II Veteran serving in the 31st infantry division. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator, and retired in 1977. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, and telling stories. His greatest accomplishment was his family, to which he was a Hero and will be deeply missed. "He is now a falling star who has found his place next to his son in a lovely constellation were he will sparkle in Heaven forever." The family will receive friends 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, at National Cremation & Burial Society, 308 E. College Ave., Ruskin. Services will follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park in Tampa.
