MITCHELL, ESSIE MAEMrs. Essie Mae Mitchell, age 69, passed away January 6, 2012 in Broward County. Mrs. Mitchell moved to Pompano, Florida forty years ago. She is survived by her sons; Tony Mitchell, Patrick Mitchell, both of Gainesville, Florida, Walter Mitchell, Jr., Alachua, FL, brother; Iverson Barnes, Pompano Beach, FL, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Mitchell will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, January 21, 2012, St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church, Alachua, FL, Rev. Freddie Terry, officiating; burial will follow in St. Matthews Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Chestnut Funeral Home, Inc., 18 N.W. 8th Avenue, Gainesville, FL. Mrs. Mitchell will repose in the Chestnut Memorial Chapel on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 2-7pm, and on Saturday at the Church from 10:00am until the hour of service.
