Irma Elizabeth Gehring Miller, 92, of Stow Creek Township died Wednesday evening July 4 at The Cumberland Manor in Hopewell Township. Mrs. Miller was the widow of Donald L. Miller, to whom she had been married for 66 years at the time of his death in 2007. She was born at home in Downer, Gloucester County and was the fourth daughter and fifth child of the late Joseph and Bertha (nee Flexon) Gehring. She was a lifelong area resident and a longtime resident of Stow Creek Township. A 1939 graduate of Bridgeton High School, Mrs. Miller was a homemaker for most of her life. She worked for NJ Bell Telephone as an operator and later as a clerk at the former May's Department Store at Carll's Corner. One of her favorite hobbies was sewing. She is survived by one daughter, Donna L. Hoffman and her husband Larry G. of Stow Creek Twp., one son, Andrew L. Miller and his wife Karen (nee Zurek) of Palatine, IL, three grandchildren, Andrea Casarow of Merchantville, Brian L. Miller of Arlington Heights, IL, and Erin L. Miller of Kansas City, KS, three great grandchildren, Grace L., Lucia P. and Mary E. Herdelin (children of Andrea Casarow). Mrs. Miller is also survived by younger sister, Emma Comiski of Bridgeton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Donald L. Miller Jr. in 1943 and her siblings, Ruth A. Gibe, Elnora Barker, Dorothy Souder and William Gehring. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services which will be held at the FREITAG FUNERAL HOME, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton on Wednesday morning July 11 at 11 a.m. where friends will be received from 10 until 11 a.m. The interment will follow the service at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.
