Elizabeth "Liz" Reid Miller, 78, died Nov. 27, 2010, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center. She was born in Oakfield, Ga., and lived in Fort Pierce for 53 years, coming from Georgia, She was employed for many years with the St. Lucie County School District. She was an active member of Greater Mount Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church singing in the choir and also a mother of the church. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Jessie Miller of Fort Pierce; sons, Clarence Reid of Albany, Ga., and Bobby Miller of Atlanta; daughters, Jackie Miller of Atlanta, Renee Miller of Vero Beach and Cynthia Miller of West Palm Beach; brother, John Reid of Albany, Ga.; sisters, Mildred Smith of West Palm Beach, Ruby Pinder of Fort Pierce, Lucille Ransom of Port St. Lucie, and Gloria Reid of Albany; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Kurt Reid and Emmett Reid; and stepmother, Hannah Reid. Services: Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Dec. 3 and 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 4 at Sarah's Memorial Chapel. A homegoing celebration will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 4 at Greater Mount Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Hendley officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Park.
