Obituary of Elizabeth Hansen


Elizabeth Holland Hansen, a native of Haverstraw and longtime resident of Stony Point, died on March 12, 2010 at the age of 96. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Delia Holland. She was also predeceased by her husband Charles Hansen on September 6, 1993 and by her sisters Regina and Adelaide Holland. Elizabeth was a graduate of St. Peter's School and the old Haverstraw High School and was a valued bookkeeper at Haverstraw Sportswear prior to her marriage to Charles Hansen at St. Peter's Church on May 18, 1940. She was a member of the Altar Society of St. Joseph's Church in Grassy Point and one of the original founders of their 50-50 Club. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point. Elizabeth had a special love for her many nieces, nephews and cousins who survive her. They always enjoyed the time she and her husband spent with them. Their visits always brought both joy and special surprises. Special thanks are expressed to her loving godchild, Jacqueline (Dede) Aguanno and the Aguanno family as well as to her faithful friends Alice Ossa and Liz Tobin. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 15 from 4-7 PM at the Edward C. Finn Funeral Home, Stony Point. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 16 at 10 AM at St. Peter's Church followed by burial in St. Peter's Cemetery.
