PARKER, EDWARD WARREN, 91Gainesville - Ed Parker of York, Maine & Gainesville, Florida was born a Catholic, in Brighton, Mass. & died an Atheist in Jacksonville, Florida on February 15, 2013, at the age of 91 years old. Cause of death "MELANCHOLY". His primary careers were: Machinist-tool & die maker, Air Force Aerial Navigator & Raven. He retired in 1965 with the rank of Major. He then attended college receiving BS & MA degrees at the U. of FL. For 19 years he taught High School Mathematics retiring in 1987 to spent the remaining leisure years in Maine & Florida. His minor attributes encompass: building architect & construction, surveyor, landscaper, mason, electrician, country lawyer, photographer, artist & writer, to name but a few. During his later years Ed was a Published author of "The Invisible Force" His best unpublished literary works consist of three volumes of FACT or FICTION & eleven Joke Books. Survivors include his two daughters: Carolyn P. Shacter (Kenneth) of Jacksonville, FL; Nance P. McLeish (Donald) of Jacksonville, FL. Also 3 grandchildren: Amy Turci, Dominique Ingerson, & Michelle McLeish. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Frances (Weare) Parker of York & Gainesville; daughter Susan P. Reisinger of Gainesville, his son, William E. Parker, and grandson, Sean Reisinger. He departed knowing that much of his success in life was owed in part first to his grandmother Margaret Warren then to his loving, kind and understanding wife Frances. But, without some good luck, none of the forgoing was possible. Expressions of sympathy, if any, should be made in the form of; Taking a stranger out to dinner. A memorial service will be on March 3rd at 2pm at The Village for Frances and Ed Parker.
