Edna Mae Morris died on Thursday, March 25, 2010 after a long healthy life of 99 years. She was born in Bronx, NY to Jacob and Mary Brengel, and into a family of nine children. Edna lived most of her life in Mt. Vernon, NY and resided at Thorpe Village, Sparkill, NY for the past nine years. Edna is predeceased by her husband Arthur, her son Roy and three sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her son Arthur and his wife Bridget of New City, NY and her sister Myrtle Treanor of Mahopac, NY, six grandchildren, Patricia,  Anthony, Christine, Roy Jr., James and Dawn, eleven great grandchildren Robert, Danielle, Nicole, Anthony, Steven,  Amanda,  Jacqueline, Bridget, Vincent,  Jason and Roy Jr. III and many loving nieces and nephews. Edna was devoted to her family and will always be remembered for her thoughtfulness, witty remarks and her special dinners. She was an avid reader and enjoyed writing poetry. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 7-9 PM and Sunday 2-6 PM at Higgins Funeral Home, New City, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday 10:15 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, West Nyack, NY. Interment to follow at St.  Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
