E. Jean Watson, 94, of North Caldwell, N.J., passed away on Feb. 20, 2013, after a short illness. A memorial service will be held on April 6, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Christ Church of Bloomfield and Glen Ridge. Jean was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on April 18, 1918. She was married to Charles Watson (now deceased) on Nov. 2, 1943; they were married for 50 years. Jean raised a family of five children in Glen Ridge, N.J. -- Robert Scott, Bettye Watson Russell, Susie Arnold, Tom, and Nancy Watson Baker. She lived in Glen Ridge for over 30 years. Jean was involved in local organizations, such as American Field Service and local Home and School Associations and was both a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. In her later years, she volunteered for Mobile Meals and Neighborhood Watch in Glen Ridge, N.J. and Whiting, N.J., where she lived in Crestwood Village for 15 years. She enjoyed her family most of all, where she provided constant help and support.. Jean is survived by her five children and their families, including three grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations to Christ Church are encouraged.
