SMITH, Dwight Vernon Born July 16, 1950 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Deceased December 25, 2011 in Calgary, Alberta at age 61. Dwight will be remembered and missed by mother, Lynn; sons Justin (Kari) and Craig; granddaughter Taylor; siblings Leslie Baker, Laurel-Anne (Doug) Fossen, and Jim; nephews Jason and David; ex-wife and friend Diana Campbell Smith; and loyal dog Harley. Dwight grew up in Vancouver where he graduated and proceeded to earn his journeyman welding designation. He then met and married his first wife, Sheryll Gallis. Dwight and Sheryll had two children, Justin and Deanna. They moved to Fort St. John to pursue his welding career. His second marriage, to Dianna Campbell, took place in Calgary, Alberta where Dwight had his second son Craig. Dwight reeducated himself and enjoyed a career as a successful mechanical engineering specialist for Colt Engineering which later became Worley Parsons. Through his work and motorcycling, he travelled extensively. Besides riding his motorcycle across the continent, he enjoyed music, ballroom dancing and working in his shop with his sons. Dwight was predeceased by his father Brian and his daughter Deanna. A family memorial will be held on Vancouver Island at a later date. A donation in lieu of flowers can be sent to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
