Born January 20, 1925 in Brome, Quebec. Passed away on March 15, 2002 in his 78th year in Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Predeceased by his parents. Survived by his sister, Glenna Johnson (Norman) of Kelowna, B.C., brothers, Norman (Shirley) of Nanaimo, B.C., Linden (Jessie) of Elmira, ON, and Larry of Montreal, QC. Remembered by an aunt, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Douglas served with the South Saskatchewan Regiment during WWII and was wounded on two occassions. He continued his service with 1RCHA during the Korean War. He retired from the military with 29 years of service and was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for 45 years. The family wishes to thank the medical staff in the Palliative Care Unit for their undivided attention. Private visitation for family only. Donations to the Cancer Society.
