Obituary of Douglas-S. Hall


Carver Douglas S. Hall, age 60, of Carver, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth after a short illness. Born Friday, Nov. 21, 1947 in Middleboro, he was a son of the late Arthur S. and Helen (Chapman) Hall. Douglas was a long time resident of Lakeville and had lived in Carver for the past five years. He was a graduate of Apponequet High School and retired from Bridgewater State Hospital where he was a correction officer. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion, the Elks in Middleboro and a member of the Mitchell Memorial Club. He enjoyed camping and fishing. He is survived by a daughter, Leanne Thomas; two sisters, Lynda Murphy and Joyce Freeman; five grandchildren; and his life long companion, Sally Lucas. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Make A Wish Foundation, 1 Bulfinch Place, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02114, or to the American Cancer Society, 1115 West Chestnut St., Brockton, MA 02301.
