Douglas Hilton Lawson 1925-2014 It is with great sadness that the family of Douglas Hilton Lawson announce his passing on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at the Veteran’s Health Unit in Fredericton, NB. Born in Fredericton, he was the son of the late Harry and Gretta (Estabrooks) Lawson. Doug enjoyed bowling and had a passion for flying and building aircraft, as well as being a dedicated member of the Golden Club. He was married to the love of his life Natalie for almost 65 years. Doug loved his family and could be very protective of them, especially his 5 granddaughters. Doug is survived by granddaughters Marina Brewer of Fredericton, Lorenda Lawson of Zealand, Tammy Liston of Mazerolle Settlement, Amy Lawson of Fredericton and Kimberley Galbraith (Brent) of Mazerolle Settlement; step-grandson Jamie Moffatt (Diane) of Ontario; nephew Dr. Gary Beatty (Jantje) of Woodstock; niece Leanne Scott of Fredericton; several great grandchildren as well as close friend Gerry Crouse. In addition to his parents, Doug was predeceased by his wife Natalie Irene (Currie); his sons Brian Lawson and Gary Lawson; brother Gerald Lawson; sisters Edith Lawson, Phyllis Beatty and Evelyn Merrill and grandsons-in-law Leonard Brewer and Stacy Liston. Resting at McAdam’s Funeral Home with visiting on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM, at the Brunswick Street Baptist Church with the Reverend Greg Geldart officiating.
