DOUGLAS M. HART Late of Regina, passed away December 9, 2009 at the age of 89 years. Doug was predeceased by his parents and his sister Edna. He is survived by his loving family: wife Kay, daughter Ann Hart (Daryl) of Kenosee Lake SK, son William (Catherine) Hart of Montreal QC; grandchildren Holly (Gerard) Kay of Regina SK, Ryan (Jennifer) Allison of Kansas City MO, Robert (Lisa) Allison of Taiwan; Sydney Hart and Jessica Hart of Montreal QC; four great grandchildren Katherine, Alexandria, and Stephanie Kay of Regina SK, and Ella Allison of Kansas City MO; his sisters Marjory Murphy, Norma Cherwaty, and Mavis (Roger) Thorsell, all of Edmonton AB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Doug grew up in Govan, Saskatchewan. He served in the Navy from 1941 1945. He and Kay Smith were married at Grand River, Cape Breton in September 1945. They settled in Regina where Doug was employed by Bird Construction for 36 years and then worked at Dales House until his retirement. Doug was an active member of Lakeview United Church. He was an elder for 25 years, chairman of the Cubs and Scouts Committee for five years, served as President of A.O.T.S., worked in the Sunday School, and served on the board of Clare Parker House for five years. Doug enjoyed tennis and served as President of the Lakeshore Tennis Club for one year. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Mark Cameron, Dr. James McHattie, and the wonderful Palliative Care Team for all their loving care and support. The family would also like to thank all those at Ward 3-6 of the Wascana Hospital for their kindness and caring. Flowers gratefully declined.
