Douglas Chalmers Lawson, 63, of 205 Stallings Road, died Saturday, March 1, 2003. Born in Union, he was the son of Evelyn Burgess Lawson, of Buffalo, and the late Amos Manning Lawson, and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was General Manager of Spartan Leasing for the past 12 years and was former owner of Lawson Lift Inc. An avid golfer, he was a member of Bonnie Brae and Pebble Creek Country Clubs. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Vera Sergiacomi Lawson; two daughters, Lynne Lawson Fugate, and her husband, Scott, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Leigh Lawson Reeves, and her husband, Hal, of Atlanta, Ga.; and five grandchildren, Henley Fugate, Patrick Fugate, Lawson Reeves, Avery Reeves and Caroline Reeves. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park, with Dr. Marshall E. Sargent officiating. Visitation will be tonight from 7 to 8:30, at The Mackey Mortuary on Century Drive.
