Douglas Boyd Turner, 69, of Carriage Drive, North Haven, died Jan. 30, 2009, at the Hospital of St. Raphael. He was the husband of Marianne White Turner. Born in New Haven, Oct. 22, 1939, he was a son of the late Andrew Emerson Turner and Hildur Anderson Turner. Douglas worked for the former Knudsen Dairy Brothers of North Haven and later for Quinnipiac University for 37 years as a computer programmer and most recently as a clerk in its postal office. He had served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He is survived by his children, Douglas (Nancy) Turner, of Wethersfield, Amy (Ken) Burns, of Orange, and Jonathan (Sharon) Turner, of Meriden; grandchildren, James and Jack Turner, Ryan and Brody Burns, Gavin and Natalie Turner; a brother, Andrew (Ellie) Turner, of Alexandria, Va. A memorial service was conducted at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Hamden, on Feb. 7. Interment was private. The North Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
