WILLIAMS Dorothy Skinner Williams died March 29, 2010 after an extended illness with Alzheimer's. Dottie was the only daughter of Richard and Annie Mae Skinner and was born in Jacksonville on October 30, 1925. After graduating from Bartram School and Smith College, Dottie taught the 7th grade in the Duval Public School system. In 1949, she married Patrick M. Williams, Jr. and this year they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They moved to North Wilkesboro, NC and in 1955 returned to Jacksonville where Pat was employed by Moore Dry Kiln Co. Dottie was active in many educational, social and religious organizations: Acacia Garden Club, Tuesday Book Club, Trustee of Bartram School, United Way, Girl Scouts, Young Life, Junior League, an original owner and Director of Deerwood Club and a Sunday School teacher and Elder at First Presbyterian Church. Dottie is survived by her husband, Pat, and four children: Reverend Ann W. Brinson (Bob) of High Point, NC, Molly Williams of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Pat III (Liz) of Orange Park, FL, and Susan W. Brodeur (Rick) of Jacksonville, FL. Dottie had seven grandchildren: Will and Charlie Brinson, Buck and Ellie Williams, and Ford, Patrick and Bryant Brodeur. She is also survived by two brothers: Dr. Richard G. Skinner, Jr. (Ann) and Bryant B. Skinner, and brother-in-law, Charles J. "Mike" Williams, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 118 E. Monroe Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202 on Tuesday, April 13th at 11:00 AM.
