BENNINGTON -- A Mass of resurrection was held Monday morning, April 10, 2006, at the Four Chaplains All Faiths Chapel of the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington with the Rev. Michael DeMasi, chaplain, officiating. Assisting at the Mass was the Rev. DeMasi’s nephew, Mark DeMasi. The organ was played by Louise Gauthier, and the hymns were sung by Monica Murray. The hymns included “Psalm 42: As The Deer Longs,” “Parable,” “I Am The Bread Of Life” and “Song Of Farewell.” Scriptures were read by Alexander Mahar.Interment followed in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery, where Father DeMasi offered the prayers of committal.Pallbearers for the services included Walter Parmenter, Mark Parmenter, Brian Parmenter, David Parmenter and Bruce Parmenter.Mrs. Dorothy Murphy, 89, a resident of the Vermont Veterans Home, died Thursday, April 6, 2006, following a long illness. Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
