MURPHY Dorothy F. (Mc Dermott), of Nutley, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Clara Maass Continuing Care Center in Belleville. Born and raised in the Bronx, she lived in Belleville before moving to Nutley over fifty years ago. Before her retirement, Mrs. Murphy worked for the Nutley Board of Education and was a former employee of New York Telephone. Mrs. Murphy was a member of the St. Mary's Rosary Society, the Catholic Daughters Court Gratia, the Cana Club, the Clara Maass Ladies Auxiliary and the Nutley Irish American Association. She is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Robert "Bob" E.J. Murphy; her children, Dorothy Bailin, Kathleen Baatz, Joanne Murphy, Rob and Tom Murphy; a brother, John "Jack" Mc Dermott; eleven grandchildren and three great-grand children. She was predeceased by a son, James; a sister, Marie and a brother, Brendan. The Funeral will be Tuesday, 8:30 AM from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (swbrownandson.com) 267 Centre St., Nutley, with a Mass celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Nutley at 9:30 AM. The Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair. Friends will be received at the Funeral home on Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Nutley Volunteer Emergency & Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 172, Nutley, NJ, 07110, would be appreciated. (www.swbrownandson.com)
