She was the wife of the late Robert George Carr. Born on May 2, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois she was the seventh of eight children born to the late Ernest and Rose Prescott. Dorothy worked early in her life, but finally took on the demanding role of a career Navy wife and mother. She enjoyed ceramics, painting, sewing, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.Dorothy is survived by her twin sister, Doris Spagnuola of Lansing, Michigan; only child and daughter in-law, Richard and Jenae Carr of Silver Spring, Maryland; two grandchildren, Lauren Carr of Fairfax, Virginia and Michael Carr of Silver Spring, Maryland; loving friend, Russell Toop of Pensacola, Florida and her fury companion, Gabby the Shi Tzu.A graveside service at Barrancas National Cemetery will be on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fisher House (www.fisherhouse.org).
