NEW BEDFORD -- Dorothy Mary (Higgins) Moreau, 80, of New Bedford died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of retired New Bedford firefighter Louis R. Moreau; they were married 60 years. A lifelong resident of New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. Higgins and Ellen P. (Knowles) Knudsen. She spent summers on Cuttyhunk. Survivors include her widower; a son, Mark R. Moreau of Lakeville; two daughters, Dorothy Ann Cavender of Bourne and Ellen Louise Moreau of Dartmouth; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Ellen Veeder. Her memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at SaundersDwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St.
