MacDONALD, Dorothy Born September 9, 1911, in Prince Albert, Sask. She left us peacefully in her sleep on January 11, 2005. Her husband, Edward; sisters, Lavina and Edith predeceased her. Dorothy and Ed moved to Victoria in August 1943. Dorothy spent her working years as a cook and retired after 20 years as a civilian employee of the 'Dept. of National Defence, Royal Canadian Navy.' Many who knew her will remember her lemon pies and homemade bread. Dorothy was also an avid knitter and her crocheting skills are legendary. For many years she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Esquimalt Legion. Left to mourn her passing are her sons, Frazer (Vi), Donald (Val); grandchildren, Michele, Scott, Edward, Kevin, Murray, Christina, and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the Doctors and Nursing Staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital who cared for Mom. Funeral service will be held at McCALL'S SEQUOIA GARDENS MEMORIAL, 4665 Falaise Drive, on Saturday January 22, 2005 at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. 29899
