Dorothy M. Johnson, age 93, of Painted Post, NY died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Absolut Care at Three Rivers in Painted Post.Dorothy was born on October 28, 1919 in Shinglehouse, PA to James and Mabel (Oliver) Kibbie. She was orphaned at an early age and was taken in by Claude and Orma Smith. She graduated from Mansfield High School in 1937. She married Arnold Johnson in 1940 in Covington, PA and was predeceased by him 2001. She and her husband moved to Painted Post in 1941.She had worked at the Imperial Club in Painted Post for a few years, then went to work at Ingersoll-Rand, and ended up retiring in 1980 as a supervisor in the Blueprint Department. She loved her children, grandchildren, and her cats. She enjoyed going to pick berries and helping with various church activities at North Baptist Church.She is survived by three sons: David (Barbara) Johnson of Painted Post, William (Dori) Johnson of Corning, and Raymond (Barbara) Johnson of Hoschton, GA; two brothers: James Kibbie, Jr of Palmyra, PA and Robert Lyle Kibbie of Buda, TX; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren.; many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters.Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 5th from 3 - 5 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning where funeral services will follow calling hours at 5:00 PM with Pastor Jay LaScolea officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Painted Post.Dorothy's family have entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
