Funeral services for Dorothy M. Johnson, 87, will be at 11 a.m. today at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Abbott and Hospice Chaplain Billy York officiating. Burial will follow at Cherokee Memory Gardens, Centre.She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Katie Johnson; husband, Gordon Johnson; sisters, Georgie Smith and Ruby Norris; and brothers, Harvey Johnson and George Jr. Johnson.She is survived by special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nadine and Clyde Guyton; sister-in-law, Gayle Johnson, Boaz; a host of nieces and nephews; and special niece and faithful loving caregiver in the last month of Dot's life, Marcella Johnson.The family would like to thank Bunny Farley who gave care, love and support to Dot and her family.Dorothy was a member of James Memorial Baptist Church and her Sunday School class, Mary Magdalene.The family requests no flowers and any memorials can be made to the James Memorial Library where Dot worked with her dearest friend, Zoe Benefield.The men of James Memorial Baptist Church will be serving as pallbearers.Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.Collier-Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Services directing.
