Dorothy L. PetersonWARREN — Dorothy L. Peterson, 66, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at her home in Warren.She was born Oct. 9, 1943, in Waterboro, a daughter of Forest and Marion Chellis Chute.She grew up and attended local schools in Newfield.She graduated from Sanford High School with the class of 1962. She worked in Connecticut for ten years. She moved back to Maine and married Harry Peterson, and they made their home in Warren.She volunteered at Fieldcrest Manor in Waldoboro.She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and crafting. She also loved her cat, spending time with her friends, going out to eat and traveling on several bus trips. She never drove and walked everywhere. She loved the outdoors.She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Harry Peterson.She is survived by a son, Stephen Peterson, of Lanesboro, Massachusetts; her brothers, Clayton Chute and his wife, Sylvia, of Newfield, and Elwood Chute, of Mount Holly, North Carolina; her sister, Shirley Thayer, of Kissimmee, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.An hour of visitation was held on Monday, Nov. 16, followed by a memorial service at the Hall Funeral Home at 949 Main Street in Waldoboro. Rev. Robin Honaker officiated. A committal service followed at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Civic Center Drive in Augusta.Arrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Home in Waldoboro.
