Dorothy Kinsman Age 84, a native of Elmira, homemaker and avid gardener died February 21, 2006 after a brief illness. Born September 7, 1921 in Elmira, NY, Mrs. Keyes was the daughter of the late Richard E. and Helen M. Kinsman. She graduated from Elmira Free Academy, Elmira, NY and attended Hood College, Fredrick, MD. She married George T. Keyes, Jr., January 30, 1943 in Elmira. They moved to Old Greenwich, CT in 1950. She and her family enjoyed many summers on Keuka Lake, Penn Yan, NY. She moved to Edgehill Retirement Community in 2002. Mrs. Keyes was a member of the First Congregational Church of Greenwich, a past president of the Riverside Garden Club and a former member of Rocky Point Yacht Club in Old Greenwich. She was a girl scout leader, a boy scout leader, and president of the Riverside School PTA. She is survived by a brother, F. William Kinsman of Fairport, NY; and a sister, Mary K. Monroe of Elmira, NY; two children, Susan K. Lynch and Richard K. Keyes; and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, George, in 1993; and her sister, Katherine K. Scott. A memorial service celebrating her life is scheduled for Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at 2:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, please give your family a hug.
