JORDAN Dorothy Jessie, age 93, loved by her family for her joy of life and deeply caring nature passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013, at her home in Waldwick. Born January 6, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY, Dottie was a graduate of John Adams High School in New York. She married her late husband of 66 years, Clifford Jordan, on July 1, 1939 and they settled in Glen Rock where they raised their family. Dottie and Cliff were devoted to each other. They enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially at their Point Pleasant shore house and on their boat, the "Dottie J." She is most remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who always put her family first. A people person famous for her humorous one-liners, she had a kind word for everyone. Dottie worked at the admitting office at Valley Hospital, and later as a medical secretary for a Ridgewood Orthopedist. She loved socializing with her Bridge Club and treasured hosting family gatherings. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Schaefer of Mendham, and Carole Vintalore (Louis) of Rochelle Park; grandchildren Julie Schaefer of Mendham, Richard Schaefer of Mendham and Jeffrey Schaefer (Betsy) of Danbury, CT; and great-grandchildren, William and Kara Schaefer of Danbury, CT. The family is grateful for the loving care provided by Maria and Deanna.
